Unfortunately, I was away on holiday and only found Dave's card, informing me of Pat's passing, upon my return. Pat's Mum and Dad. Arch and Topsy, were good friends with my own parents. So, when I started thinking back, Pat had become the person that I had known longest. Archie and my Dad worked together and during the summer season, we'd all go to the works cricket matches. I was about five and remember Pat being in her early teens and on those trips she became my "Big sister", keeping an eye on me. Strange how the sun always seemed to shine on those days. Clearly, even in her early years, Pat showed the caring which in later years I saw as she made sure that her parents were looked after.
